Hi, my friend Sandy is a Urologist and when he’s not studying the monetary system of foreign countries he does doctoring and stuff.

He also has freckles and likes to try and help people when they are prostrate. Sometimes he helps Prostates  and other parts that I can’t pronounce or spell. I think I may have  a Prostate, I’ll look under the rug.

In any event Sandy and his whole company  he works with and his cool  doctor posse plus other nice people have an event and I’m going to run it in with my son.  So run if you would like to see me in shorts. I have  nice legs. If that’s scary then you should sign up and  go run for your Prostate and everyone else’s  and the prevention and cure of/for Prostate Cancer.

You’ll have cool time and help folks like you and other folks like you. So go do it and be a damn hero just for running. Underneath, and a not in all Caps, there  is more information and writing not by me so you should be happy about that. Go, read it now. Run Sunday September 25, 2011.

The Great Prostate Cancer Challenge (GPCC) 5K is now less than 1 week away. I need your support to make this the best year ever! What a difference we could make.

The GPCC’s mission is to bring widespread attention and awareness to prostate cancer and men’s health in the same way that organizations like The Susan G. Komen Foundation have brought attention to breast cancer and women’s health issues.

This is the fifth Great Prostate Cancer Challenge. We have grown from one host city, Baltimore in 2007, to 27 cities hosting their own GPCC in 2011. Our Baltimore GPCC 5K Walk/Run is Sunday, September 25. It will again be held at Johnny Unitas Stadium at Towson University. The event will start at 8:30 AM.

Get there early as there will be plenty to see and do even if you do not walk or run. It will be a magnificent day! I am hoping you will help us achieve our goal to have 3,000 to 3,500 people there.

Lenny Moore is our honorary chairman again this year. Many others will attend including hundreds of prostate cancer survivors, The Boy Scouts of America, Baltimore Colts including Jim Mutscheller, Maxie Baughan, Bruce Laird, Joe Washington, Toni Linart, members of the Negro Baseball Hall of Fame, and many others. WJZ provides live coverage of the event and Radio-One will be broadcasting from the event also. Marty Bass is the MC. Dr. Welsh, President of Towson University, will be an honored guest for the event.

Many local companies and schools are forming teams for the run including Advanced Radiology, American Radiology, Baltimore Magazine, Hopkins, Coppin State, Loyola Blakefield, Pikesville Senior High, The Milford Academy, Owings Mills High School, The Calvert Hall School, The Gilman School, Park School, Boys Latin, McDonogh, UMBC, Towson University, Stevenson University, Goucher College and many, many others. There are many corporate sponsors. It will be a great event and a great time.

The GPCC website is Please, take a look at the site. Sign up! We have great give-a-ways and raffle items. There will be cash awards and Newton Running shoes to the men and women group winners. The Baltimore Ravens have given us autographed balls and helmets to raffle. If you don’t register you cannot win anything!

I have attached our GPCC brochure for the event.  We all can help make a difference. If you cannot come, tell a friend about it. Go to the website, register and make a donation. Any amount is appreciated and your contribution will go to making a stride in the fight against cancer and reducing cancer deaths.

Thanks again for you support,
